By January 1, 2015, Germany counted 258 offshore wind turbines with a total capacity of 1,049.2 MW.
This was a 50% increase from the previous year and is expected to triple to 3GW by 2016.
The total installed energy capacity in Germany in 2014 was 172 GW.
